HANDICAP LIFT
Handicap Lift is designed so it lifts you up stairs with a chair that rides along a track mounted to the wall along your home's stairs.
A stair lift is sometimes referred to as chair lifts, stairway lifts, stairglides or stair chairs, handicap Stair lift, handicapped Stair lifts, domestic Stair lift, home Stair lift, straight Stair lift, electric Stair lifts etc.. However you like to refer to your own stair lift is up to you. If you need help getting up those stairs, then we have the lift for you.

Common Questions When Picking A Handicap Lift

  • What is the weight and height of the Handicap Lift user?

  • How able are you to transfer to the seat of the Stair lift?

  • Are your stairs straight or curved?

  • If they are curved, what shape or type is the curve?

  • Will the Handicap Lift be on the left or the right of your stairs? (This is from the bottom of the stairs facing the stairway.)

  • What is the width of the stairs in your stairway in inches?

  • Does the width of your stairs stay constant for the entire length of the stairwell?

  • Does the stairway have an existing hand rail?

Important Points About A Stair lift

  • The Handicap Lift rail mounts to "stair treads", not to your wall. It is required that your stairs be in sound condition.

  • If the width of your stairs is less than 37" The biggest issue will be the distance of the track from the wall. Also the height and the leg length of the intended user effects this.

  • If you will be having difficulty transferring to the seat of the Stair lift, then special consideration will be made to the seat height.

  • If intended user is short, then an area to pay attention to is the seat height at the bottom of the stairway.

  • A DC powered Handicap Lift unit maybe more appropriate if you have lower back pain and/or a soft start and stop are important.

  • If intended user is tall, then an area to pay attention to is the Handicap Lift seat depth.

  • For safety and ease of use, the Stairway where the Handicap Lift is installed, must have adequate lighting at top and bottom.

  • It is also very important to confirm local government requirements for the electrical plug that will be used.

  • The Handicap Lift track must have the ability to extend all the way to the top and bottom landings for the user's safe transfer to the seat of the Stair lift.
